Awareness is where
change begins
After postgraduate studies in psychology at Columbia University, I completed a master’s degree in social work at SUNY, State University of New York. I also completed Cognitive Process Therapy for trauma reduction, hosted by West Virginia University.
I returned to Japan from the United States in 2007 and spent four years handling a wide range of duties at a major EAP provider, including counseling corporate employees, crisis intervention, leave-of-absence and return-to-work consultation, and training as a lecturer. In counseling, I have built experience supporting various issues, focusing on the mental and physical health of working individuals, such as depression, addiction, trauma, personality disorders, cultural adjustment difficulties, and family problems. I conduct counseling mainly through cognitive-behavioral therapy, CPT, psychoanalytic therapy, solution-focused therapy, and behavioral therapy (ABA), by being attentive to the client's inner voice and promoting their self-awareness and inner growth. Counseling in English is also available. I place great value on the connections with each client and continually strive to create time that clients feel was worthwhile.
